 Interior Design Day

Today, I invited over our house for a play-day one Italian family. It was 2 children and their mum,Lidia.
I like her ideas, as she does an interior design job. After a cup of jasmine green tea we talked about my little kid's birthday party as she's already done it 1 week ago.
Later on, it turned out to be our play day, indeed, hahaha. The kids went to play outside meanwhile we started moving the furniture from Simon's room to see how it would look like if we would put it like we wanted.(My employer would kill me for that without any permission). Yet, 2 more days of babisitting...
So,our idea was to make some positive changes and perhaps, Lidia said, it could be a nice b.surprise to give to the little kid.
The mess that you could see everywhere was unmeasurable, though. I was exhausted just by looking at it not to mention to clean it up! Of course I wasn't alone who was doing it. The final result - wow, was amazing! Just to tell you, we didn't do any painting yet. Still,I had to stop Lidia to tell her that we have to put it back to normal before my employers come. They wouldn't like me doing any changes without asking, for sure. I was just imagining this writing on the wall 'You are fired!'

Having the promise from her that she will come back on Friday, calmed me down a little.
When the play-day was elapsed,I had to explain the little one that it is temporarily solution, and that we would eventually have to place all things back...(and I think we shouldn't do it at all , as he really likes it now).Oh, well...

As because Lidia knows my employer quite well, and hope she will be invited with her kids to Simon's birthday party, we thought she could convince S's.mum to make some changes to Simon's room as for his b.day and maybe have the other parents bring some additional things to complete her design to Simon's room.
What a great idea? The only thing is to do it in a not-invading way into her privacy.

Today, was a real fun and exhausting. Still have some work to do tomorrow. So I'm off to sleep.

P.S. Next day should be interesting enough, too...G.N.

 What an evening last night!

Last night was pretty much looking like a drama to me.
I actually wished for something interesting to happen, though, didn't mean the power to go off in the whole house!
Let's call it'Home Alone 2',but it wasn't so funny as my cat scared me to death in the dark basement.
So,my employers are gone and I'm only with this kid who's fast asleep. It's 10 p.m. past. Temperature starts to drop (like in Titanic)and I happen to be searching in the black fog for a flash light. Cool enough, I didn't know where they were kept. So, I played for a blind for a little bit.
Once I found it, called my friend (good I charged my cell before)what a fuse-box looks like and where it should be approximately located. Of course, I had to go downstairs to now even darker basement! Before I go down, could see our neighbors are fine. 'So this is weird' I said to myself as I'm taking a deep breath before I head off into the dungeon. "What to do?" I ask Michaela. Well, as hard as I tried, the main power switch was as if purposely stuck, so I had to put the flash light on the floor....and then I saw these glowing yellow eyes. The cat!!! I almost got a heart attack...just imagine.

So after initial shock, was worried not to get the second one-this time the electrical.

Well, I was still alive but nothing seemed to work in spite of my skillful attempts, hahaha. 'This can't be any worse than this'... and, yes,it was. As I'm on my way up the stairs I can smell something burnt! As fast as I could, went to check every room including where the little kid is having a sweet dream while I start to panic...Then a good idea flashed through my mind. Why not to do this more romantic. Candles!!! In fact, it was the smart one. I relaxed a bit and went to meditate what else I do.
My employer left me this written note to contact our neighbor (didn't have the tel.no there)in case anything goes wrong in the house. The bottom line it did.
Basically, made decision to ring the bell of my neighbor's house. To my surprise, the woman speaking through the security speaker said they were almost in bed and that she was sorry not being able to help me plus as a matter of fact, her husband wakes up early in the morning!!!Their lights were still on. Never mind, I thought for a while 'it's just a bad dream...Really 'nice' neighbors, indeed. It wasn't funny joke at all. Sometimes I wonder what people I'm surrounded with...
Back in the 'romantic house'. After few minutes I hear the knocking sound on the front door. The woman must have had a bad feeling, so she just wanted to make sure she could sleep well after she'd pissed me off. More disturbing fact than that was that these people didn't know my employers were gone for so long. This is simply reality. I think it proves to be a good example that we live inside of some boxes and we don't seem to care what's happening outside of the box called the world! Not their fault - my employer's.
The blood pressure or stress dropped down and went to bed hoping the inside-house cables wouldn't catch the fire.

The next morning at 6 lights went on! In front of school I heard some of the parents of children say that their power went off, too, all for the old pine tree that cut through the street wires. Still, don't understand.Their houses were 2 blocks away from ours' so mystery is unknown...

Hope I don't have nights like this for a long time

 Buntzen Lake

I'm back...Yesterday, the plan has changed. I & Michaela decided to go to Buntzen Lake. Grose Grind wasn't safe for avalanches so we decided not to risk it.

Funny thing was that on the way to B.L. we actually ended up somewhere at Sasamat Lake and even further down at the other side of Deep Cove, hahaha. So we went there for a picnic time and came back to B.L. for a 2-hour hike (level of difficulty 0). So maybe next time it's at least up to level 3.So till then, I need to practise just in case (plus will take a map or compass).

After the hike, we had this get-together with Erika in my place and cooked some dinner. Me, decided to bake this cake (one of Slovak's)that turned out to be disaster. Thank God my mum didn't get to see me how I made it. You would cry, hahaha.

So while chatting, even with my sister on Skype (weird, talking to computer), my art work got finished after 3 hrs of trying so hard to get desired taste. No chance... This has never happened to me before, believe it or not.

Just to say, there wasn't any sleep over - it was talk over till 5 in the morning! More refreshing than the cake for sure.

O.K. To be continued...

 My First Blog Post

So this is my first day of blogging !!! It's Friday (my favorite day),pretty much raining here in Vancouver. And what else is new?

Well, at the beginning of this month I bought quite a good investment item - my brand new laptop! So this was a good opportunity why to set up my own blog that I can attend to on daily basis.
It's really a perfect way of communication with the rest of the world. With you all in Europe, too. Plus the advantage of it is that you don't waist any paper hehehe (you know I try to be environmentally friendly).I like it!

Today is my 6th day, out of 13 days, I'm babysitting this little cute boy Simon 24 hrs every day. Ufff. Parents are on a cruise ship somewhere in Mexico. I wouldn't mind to go, too, if they were not my employers.

So, it's interesting work, especially when you are boss to yourself. I love the independence days...

This Saturday is only one day off in between those others so the plan is to go hiking on Grouse Grind. Hope the weather's good. Back slide is by gondola as planned.

For those who don't know what I'm talking about check this web site - http://www.grousemountain.com

Anyway, gotta go. Still at work and my morning break is almost over.

Blog you soon...
