Life in Canada(Vancouver)

 Christmas time

It's Christmas time and I donn't feel it is!....This is already the 2nd year I haven't seen my family, very sad thing. To make things more colorful, I went to see my friends in North Van to join for yummy dinner we created. Our point was not to give presents but rather spend a good time together and chatting what we eventually did. I had a heck of good time! On the other hand, I had to refuse the invitation of one family (I felt so bad),whom I really like, but it was for my personal reasons....no offense . Now, I have 2 weeks off and don't know all of a sudden what to do with it,lol. As a matter of fact, I have to invest some time into doing my final year project, so I will have to dig into my books and research about the three countries my friends picked - Ukraine, Romania, and former Yugoslavia (I'm gonna send them into a danger zone, haha). Maybe you ask yourself why I picked these Eastern European countries? Well, my main goal is to promote such places where the tourism is not well developed and yet beautiful to explore, as well as, thank to my client- a family friend who actually wants to go there! Soooo, this is gonna be my first real project and quite challenging, yuyks! Don't know where to start first....I would rather go myself to map the terrain out before I can write about it,haha. Real experience is the best one!

 SABRE.....

Okey -dokey....I haven't been here for a while due to my intense studies and finals but will try to catch up ;)....About FTT(Fundamentals of Travel & Tourism),I did very well on the test(so proud of myself!), so I am very happy . Also another final test is behind me, but on that one I have a bad feeling that I screwed it up a big deal on all the calculations...well, hope the marks for the homework & projects will balance it off somewhat. Yesterday, we started using Sabre training emulator- the computer reservation system. It's gonna be another bunch of memorizing the codes and setting up PNR's (passenger name records)....my eyes already hurt from staring at the PC . The pace we take it is quite steady if I don't miss a class. For instance if you miss one or two it's considered a lot ....as it proved to me last time.....

....to be continued....

 Upcoming week...

Back to reality...another week of school. This month we take Domestic Tariffs and Ticketing which means in translation working with Sabre or Galileo GDS(Global Distribution Systems) and mainly learning about aviation sector. To be honest, I am not very technical type but never mind....I gotta use to it, so I'm finding it "quite interesting"?...hmmm... to familiarize myself about the types of fleets such as this amazing A380 Airbus (A350 will come into service in 2010,check it out below!)or Boeing types....(don't wanna name them, I haven't memorize them all yet). Damn, there's gonna be stack of memorizing of airline codes, ughhh.

What I more look forward to, is The Soho business event in downtown Vancouver at which I am gonna be part of as a volunteer again! It's this Wednesday in the evening @ The Caprice Club (quite unusual destination place, right? lol), so this if gonna be fun(at the end perhaps drinking some shots ).

Okey dokey! I have to go back to studying about the A.crafts....

Ciao!

P.S. ....have tagged in some picks from my presentation on AJ Hackett bungy jumping...was fun to do it although I would better try it in real life

October poem from me to you....

Lying down a beautifully peaceful picture appears in front of my eyes...
I am looking at the white-blue clouds
realizing how powerfully they are spreading
their wings above my head.
The clock strikes 9:15 - it's getting dark,
and I can vividly see the changing colors of the sugar cotton sky.
Then in stillness, I realize how simple everything could be, if I stopped and watched for a while life changes happening...
Yes, I feel I am changing, too, by slow pace of this magnificent sky.
Now, I hear the drops of rain falling down, as if it had feelings to tell me
what's going through right now.
Strange, that it affects me strongly
as I listen to it closely...
After few minutes, I find myself suddenly
surrounded by endless silence and warmth...
....and from deep inside me,
there is this tiny little voice saying in whisper....
I understand; everything is so simple, so charming, so intelligent, full of love and sense of life....

 Buntzen Lake run

Today was an excellent weather....so I didn't wanna waste it and went for a run with Vicky and her dog Stella to Buntzen Lake.Well, from now on I need to get in better shape (not that I'm not but stamina wise) before I go skiing on the slopes this winter. (Apparently, our school is trying to get a group deal for us students to go to Whistler!!!)yeahhh... So, from now on I'm gonna do running every weekend besides some fast walking I do on daily basis :).

Of course, I had a little thing to remember today again, lol.I got pulled by Stella so much that I fell....fortunately only with some scratches...still could finish 2 hrs of running (surprisingly, I was not that much exhausted). So this is gonna be my temporary solution before I sign up again for the dancing classes at Harbour Dance Centre .

Anyway, gotta go studying for my finals....covering everything from hotel accommodation, cruises, car rentals up to elapsed flying times and airlines- can hardly wait to spit my knowledge out!

P.S. Btw,today was also my nameday! Thanks to all who remembered :).... It was Katarina's day today, indeed!hehe (didn't celebrate it really only by eating nice dinner at Shark's yesterday)....
